If both ends of the canoe have a point, sit on the bow seat facing backwards (towards the stern). This will bring you closer to the center. If its still not good enough, try kneeling at the center. You might need something to kneel on tho.

I have a pelikan two seater. I am pretty heavy guy (280lb) when I go fishing usually I am alone and I am seating at rear seat. Is that the way I supposed to do ? or should I place myself at center of the canoe. ? Thanks.

this is all wrong first he’s sitting in the wrong part of the canoe he should be at the back/stern of the canoe that ”box” stuff doesn’t mater as long as you have the right size of paddle and are holding it correctly.
